This shark is also called coral shark. It should not be confused with the oceanic whitetip shark which is larger and more predatory.
This shark is a passive shark that does not need to swim to breathe, it is often found lying on the bottom.
This shark has about 3000 teeth, which is renewed every 3 days!
The tiger shark has slender marks similars to the lines of tigers, hence its name.
When it is juvenile, these marks are round and not vertical. They change when it grows.
Parrotfish create a protective envelope around them when they are sleeping.
So, don't put the light on them during night dive to don't to wake them up and break this envelope.
The kakihona sushi (sushi wrapped in persimmon leaves) are really the best!
To eat them, you have to go to Nara!
